We got it!

Only a few months ago, on a sunny day in Madrid, a fax arrived at the Next Limit headquarters. It read: “It is a pleasure to send my congratulations to you on the occasion of your winning a Technical Achievement Award. You and a guest are cordially invited to attend our annual Awards Presentation Dinner and Ceremony that will be held in the Main Ballroom of the Beverley Wilshire Hotel.”

“We got it!!!!!” was the first euphoric email Victor Gonzalez, Next Limit CEO and one of the award winners, sent out to his colleagues and friends. A small office party with champagne and some freshly cut Spanish jamon followed, everybody happy. “We started off as two people with a computer in a tiny office, and look where we stand today!” exclaimed Victor. “A Technical Achievement Award for RealFlow – it’s amazing. This award means a great boost for Next Limit, and for the entire Spanish business world.”

The two other winners, Ignacio Vargas – CTO of Next Limit – and Angel Tena – Lead Developer of RealFlow, were equally ecstatic with this achievement. “What a great start of 2008,” said Ignacio. “This is going to be our year.”

After the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences officially announced the winners and Next Limit released its first press release, chaos commenced. Every Spanish television channel, every newspaper, magazine and radio station wanted to visit Next Limit, shoot a nice reportage, interview the winners and simply experience what RealFlow is all about: innovation, creativity and excellence. They got a warm welcome. While Victor and Ignacio worked around the clock to speak to everyone, Next Limit employees were stuck to their TVs to not miss out on their 5 seconds of fame.

Now, after several weeks, the calm has returned (or at least part of it). Victor and Ignacio have traveled to Los Angeles to meet with friends and contacts and to get their suits pressed for the ceremony on Saturday. Angel, Phil Dickson (Head Business Development) and Nicole van der Burg (Press and PR) will take a plane to L.A. on Wednesday to join Victor and Ignacio. Everyone is impatiently looking forward to the Awards Dinner and Ceremony, preparing speeches, charging cameras and getting last-minute haircuts.

We’ll try to keep you updated on our L.A. adventure and will post stories and pictures on this blog. Thanks to everyone who has been there for us and supported us throughout this often exciting but sometimes rough ride – we couldn’t have done this without you.

Speak soon,

A seguir asi... ;)
